The Experience

For 20 years I’ve photographed fashion and editorials. My portrait sessions are inspired by that experience and structured in a way that includes several looks, designed together, then styled and lit like a magazine shoot. We shoot in my downtown studio, at your home, or in the places that are yours.

First
Your Design Consultation
Every session is designed, not improvised. We start with what you’re drawn to: the photos you’ve saved, the images that stop you, the mood you keep coming back to. Then we talk about what these photographs should say, and who they’re for.
From there, I design the shoot around you: the aesthetic, the light, the setting and the looks. We choose your wardrobe together, usually several changes.

Then
Hair and Makeup
A professional artist does your hair and makeup, and it’s part of the session. You sit back like a celebrity.

Your day
The Shoot
Each session is styled and handled like a celebrity portrait or magazine editorial shoot.
No stiff, static posing. I have my own methods of directing you in front of the camera, so you look natural and authentic.
The hardest part is showing up.

Afterward
Choosing Your Images
We meet in person to go through your images together. You’ll have more beautiful photographs than you expect, so I’m there to answer questions, give my opinion when you want it, and help when you’re torn between favorites. The choices are yours.
I retouch every image you choose myself, by hand, in-house. Then you decide how to keep them: digital files, an album, wall art, or all three.

“An incredible artistic eye. Every image feels intentional, refined, and beautifully composed.”
